Full Morocco 10 Days from Marrakech



Morocco 10 days from Marrakech: a route that leaves from Marrakech to Casablanca through (Erg Chebbi) Merzouga and the imperial cities.  We will visit the most amazing part of the desert of Morocco  on this  and we can contemplate the contrasts of the different landscapes of the country.  We will cross roads, valleys, mountain passes, gorges or canyons, dunes and villages with history, different fortresses such as the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou World Heritage Site, also includes a dromedary excursion that will take you to a typical Berber camp to sleep in a authentic Haima. There we will enjoy a great experience: sunset, live music, the immensity of the stars. We will discover the exotic imperial cities, the Blue city (Chefchaouen) and the artists’ city (Assilah).

Day 1: welcome to  Marrakech! Marhaba

Arrival and pick up at Marrakech Menara airport and transfer to your Hotel / Riad.

Day 2: Marrakech – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Rose Valley – Dades valley

At 8 o’clock in the morning departure from Marrakech towards Ouarzazate, to ksar ait ben Haddou, we will cross the Atlas Mountains (we will make small stops along the way to get closer to the beautiful landscapes and authentic Berber villages).  The first stop will be the visit of the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a 16th-century fortress classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and many great films were made there as well (Gladiator, Laurence of Arabia, the kingdom of heaven …).  Then we continue to Ouarzazate, where we will have lunch and visit the Kasbah of Taourirt.  Then we will go to the Dades Valley and the Valley of the Roses, with a stop to see locally made cosmetics, through the fascinating palm grove of Skoura, where numerous ancient kasbahs stand out, among the palm trees.  Dinner, breakfast and accommodation in the gorges of Dades.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga, night in haimas nomadas

After breakfast, we can enjoy one of the best views of the Dades Valley.  We will do it from one of the most strategic places that the mountains offer us.  From there we can observe the amount of kasbah there is and the picturesqueness of each one of them.  After making several stops along the way, we will arrive at the Todra Gorges.  Located near the city of Tineghir, they give way to the desert.  Surrounded by a valley full of palm trees and adobe villages, here are the mountains most appreciated by climbing enthusiasts.  These faults of Todra and Dades are the best known and also the most impressive in Morocco. After a walk in the Todra Gorges and lunch in Tinjdad or Touroug, we leave for the desert to reach the impressive dunes of Merzouga where we will depart in a caravan of dromedaries in a journey of approximately one hour to reach our nomadic haimas,  located in the middle of a sea of dunes (Erg Chebbi), we take the opportunity to see one of the most impressive sunsets that you have ever seen before.  Dinner and night in Haimas nomads in the heart of the desert under a spectacular blanket of stars.

Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifrane – Fez

Before sunrise, our dromedary guide will wake you up to the dunes and find the sun that rises above the horizon.  We will start the trip in dromedaries and on the route we will pause to enjoy the view.  Upon arrival at the hotel we can take a shower and breakfast, before continuing our trip to Fez. We leave Merzouga through: Erfoud, Errachidia, Ziz Valley, Medilt where we will stop for lunch, and continue to the cedar forests of Azrou, where we can see and take pictures with the monkeys that live there.  Then we will cross Ifrane to continue to Fez.  We will arrive at your Riad / hotel.  Accommodation with breakfast.

Day 5: Fez guided visit

After breakfast, we will begin the guided tour of the medina, one of the largest walled cities in the world.  Founded in 790 AD, placing us somewhere between the Middle Ages and today.  We will explore the narrow streets full of shops with fresh fruit, lots of spices, Berber carpets and many other objects of Moroccan art.  We will visit the Royal Palace, the potters and the tanners and then the oldest university in the world, before (even Oxford or the Sorbonne).  Then we will have lunch in a typical restaurant in the center of the medina.  After lunch we will complete the visit to the medina and return to your hotel.  Dinner will be served at a local restaurant or at the hotel.

Day 6: Fez – Meknes – Volubilis – Chefchaouen

After breakfast at the hotel / Riad, we head towards Meknes, the tanner of Fes Morocco chosen by Sultan Moulay Ismail as its imperial capital at the end of the 17th century, where we will enter the city through the great monumental gate «Bab Mansour  » to visit the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail.  The mausoleum is one of the most impressive buildings in the city.  We will have lunch and continue towards the Roman ruins of Volubilis, its mosaics and temples stand out where we will take a guided tour.  Then we will go to Chaouen via Ouazane.  Accommodation in your hotel / Riad with breakfast

Day 7: Chefchaouen – Assilah – Rabat

After breakfast we will visit Chauen.  This city is one of the most particular in Morocco.  It welcomed Muslim refugees fleeing Granada in 1492 or after the expulsion from Spain in 1648, so it has many similarities with the Andalusian people, white and blue houses, steep medina on the back of the mountain and Andalusian courtyards.  Chefchaouen is tranquility.  We have lunch and then we will go to Assilah which is a beautiful and quiet coastal city.  Free time to stroll through its medina of white houses with artistic murals.  In the afternoon we will relax the capital of the kingdom of Rabat.  Night and breakfast at the Riad / hotel.

Day 8: Rabat – Casablanca – Marrakech

After breakfast at the hotel / Riad we set off to visit the city that will include the Mohammed V Mausoleum and the Hassan Tower, the Kasbah of the Oudayas and Challah.  Next we will go to Casablanca, one of the largest cities in Africa, where there is an elegant mix of Art Deco and Neo-Moorish-style buildings that line wide avenues.  We will have lunch and then visit the magnificent mosque of Hassan, one of the largest mosques in the world.  Its beauty handmade and impressive.  Then we will return to Marrakech.  Night at the hotel / Riad.  Accommodation with breakfast.

Day 9: Marrakech guided visit

After breakfast, we will start the visit with a local guide to the old town called The «Jewel of Morocco» and the «Pearl of the South» – includes the Koutoubia Mosque, the richly decorated tombs of the Saadien dynasty;  the Bahia palace and the Koranic Madrasa.  After lunch, you will continue your tour with a visit to Jemaa el Fna square, all Marrakech revolves around that square, since 2008 Unesco registered it as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, its Medina with its colorful souks or markets. Accommodation in your hotel / Riad with breakfast.

Day 10: Marrakech Airport

After breakfast we will take you to the Menara airport, to connect with your flight back home
